We were undefeated in the Continental United States and undefeated internationally; our only losses were to Puerto Rico and Hawaii.  Kyle Friend and Gustavo Cintron were selected to the all-tournament team.

We played against a Canadian team who called themselves the dragons.  Unfortunately for them, my team had named themselves the Dragon Slayers, so we had a mental advantage going into that game.  I chose not to give the Dragon Slayer stickers out until the match was over, so not to fuel the opponents drive to win.

I was the only female coach in the final four. 

The team went to the spaghetti factory one night and took a carriage ride around downtown Louisville after the meal.

The third day we took a shuttle to the University of Louisville  ( I received a volleyball scholarship to play at UofL) and went to the bookstore where all the players received a U of L t-shirt or hat from me for getting into the Gold Medal round and then I took them on a tour of the campus to the administration building Grawemeyer Hall  which   houses a recreation of Foucault's pendulum one of the world’s largest, and Rodin’s     THE THINKER

 

All in all, it was a great tournament and a very good experience for my team, I am very proud of each one of them and what they accomplished.  They all maintained themselves as gentlemen and are all looking forward to going back and winning the Gold next year in Minnesota
